43,75€Follow us along the picturesque, winding Vlist river on our way to Holland's Silver Capital: Schoonhoven and the historic town of Nieuwpoort.
Starting from Gouda’s Market square, our bikes will take us along the picturesque, winding Vlist river, which forms the eastern boundary of the Krimpenerwaard polder.
After enjoying the gorgeous vistas for an hour or so, we arrive in Schoonhoven, the designated ‘silver capital’ of Holland. Here we will stroll around the historic centre, and you have some time for shopping or refreshments. After lunch time we cross the Lek river by ferry and visit Nieuwpoort, one of the smallest fortified towns in the Netherlands. Nieuwpoort played an important role in the Old Hollandic Waterline, a water-based defence system.
Crossing the river again, we hop on our bikes to visit the village of Haastrecht. At a local cheese farm you are invited to sample real Gouda cheese, and the farmer will show you how Gouda is produced in the traditional way (optional activity). After this stop we return to Gouda, where our tour ends at the Market square.
